Hello all
Well we enjoyed fantastic weather and a great turnout for our Club Championships last month and I would like to congratulate Per in regaining his title
(and filling that gap in the dust on his shelf), to Nigel for winning the Seniors with the best round of the weekend on the Sunday and especially
Saskia for her first Ladies' Championship.
Many of you will have seen during the Club Championship weekend examples of the new IGC logoed wear which is now available either in stock or to order through Lester.
The kit is available in the traditional club colours (dark red shirts, black sweaters) but a wider range of other colours for the more adventurous or fashion conscious may also be ordered.
Thanks to Beate and Lester for their efforts on this.
Now what could be more exciting than an update to the rules of golf? Well most things to be honest, however it is every players responsibility to know the rules, and in particular
to familiarise yourselves with the changes that come into effect next year. You can find a summary of the changes on the R&A website
(http://www.randa.org/en/Rules-and-Amateur-Status/New-Rules-2012.aspx).
Having had a look through these changes (I know I lead an exciting life) one of the most significant changes is related to that dreaded situation when on a windy day the ball moves
after you have grounded the putter so check out the change to rule 18-2b.
The rules of amateur status have also been updated and now allow hole-in-one prizes to be exempt from the normal prize restrictions so I'd wait until next year before winning that
Porsche if I were you.
Finally on to things a little more fun than rules. I have been lucky enough recently to play golf as a visitor at a course while away from Belgium. The course and the weather were
both fantastic but what really made the experience special was the chance to share the morning with some of the local members with whom I played.

It reminded me what a unique golfing experience our club gives us, not only the variety of courses we play, but also the great chance to share our enjoyment of
golf with such a diverse and interesting group of people.
So although the 'serious' golf for the year is over I still look forward to joining you all on the course with IGC soon.
David
